He will break the all time home run record this year, if the following things happen:

1. He actually makes the team, and starts all 162 games.
2. He takes a whole bunch of steroids, and swings a bat with a sweet spot the size of a telephone pole.
3. The Rangers score so many runs per game that Sammy gets about 20 at bats per game.
4. Hell freezes over.

Hank Aaron still leads the All Time Home Run list with 755.
Sammy Sosa has 588.
In his absolute best year at the plate (1998) Sammy belted 66 home runs.
The most hit by a player ever is Barry Bonds, who hit 73 in 2001.
Sammy hit 64 that year.
To beat Hank Aarons record this year, Sammy would have to hit 168 home runs.
So I don't think Sammy will break the All Time record this year or any year.
If you meant single season record, I think you're still out of luck.
I wouldn't expect him to hit more than 30-35 tops, if he even gets a spot on the Texas Rangers Major League roster.

What the hell are you talking about? It's Barry Bonds and not Sammy Sosa who has the opportunity to break the all time home run record this year.

I assume you mean Barry Bonds? If so, I think he will. Granted, there is the steroids controversy but it is still an amazing accomplishment. Sosa has 588 HRs and would need 168 this year to break the record. Bonds has 734 and only needs 22 to break the record held by Hank Aaron with 755

Look, that's impossible, and the reason is because he has 588 HR (5th in all time leadears), and the all time record by Hank Aaron is 755 HR. So he is 167 HRs back, in one year the most a player has homered was 73 by Bonds using esteroids.

So I think your question must be if Barry Bonds (2nd all time with 734 HRs) will break the record of Hank Aaron (755 HRs) this year?

I hope this could clear out your question...

Its no longer if he breaks the record its while he does. He already has one hundred seventy five extra abode runs then bonds did on the age of 32 he's barely 8 faraway from 500 there'll be no questions while it occurs reason A-Rod would be the final participant to ever positioned on the uniform.

I think a better question would be "Do you think Sammy Sosa will be playing above triple A by the end of the season?"

Sosa has 558 career home runs, he would have to hit 198 home runs this season to break the all time record. I don't think Sosa will hit more than 15 this year and will probably be cut and playing for some minor league team next year.

Yes.

Also, the Kansas City Royals will go 162-0 in the regular season and win the World Series.

HAHAHAHA SOSA???? NO!!!!!

bonds has a much better chance at breaking the record.
sosa is too old, and not good enough.
he may not even make majors, seriously.
he'll break the record when the earth blows up.
