My husband has a Subaru WRX and he wants an intake, and a few other things for his birthday. Where do I go to find that stuff?

You can go to any high performance auto shop. I would recommend Subaru approved parts. The parts department at a Subaru dealer will carry approved parts. Be careful Subaru is very particular about add-ons. I have seen it happen before were Subaru will void the warranty because of after market add ons that may damage the power-train.

You can find certain things on e-bay as described above, but as with anything on ebay it can be very good or very poor quality. Depending on the year of the WRX you can find performance parts at stores such as CobbTuning.com, Gruppe-S.com, BuschurRacing.com as well as many others.

Some of these items can be very pricey and he might want to research a little further on the intake. Some models years have a problem with the intakes, especially with short-rams. They can cause lean conditions and CEL's. This can be resolved with engine management or a good tune, but might not be a great modification without.

In any case you are going to be buying a tube with a filter on it, so don't break the bank. If you have a few minutes, look at some of the vendors listed at nasioc.com. There are also forums for product reviews and vendor specials that might save you a little cash.
Good luck and make sure he lets you drive it!

There's a lot of stuff out there - and most of it doesn't work very well, if at all. Your best bet is to contact the factory - Subaru does a lot of pro racing, so they already have the good stuff, and they have proven that it works well and doesn't break too easily. Anything else is just someone else's best guess.

check the forums on NASIOC.com. thats an incredible website for imprezas, WRX's, and STis.

and i dunno youre hubby, but i would always buy that stuff myself. Theres too many crappy parts out there for someone else to pick them out for me (or at least someone thats not a car nut).

I would go on Ebay personally; or do a google search "WRX cold-air intake.
