I don't mean because someone has an unattractive body, but I mean humans in general. We are the only animal in the world that feels that nudity is somehow indecent. How did this happen, and what is wrong with nudity? We all obviously know what lies beneath our clothing, so why do we feel that we need to cover ourselves up? What is so morally reprehensible about our own bodies? It defies logic, and for the life of me, I can't understand it.

It probably dates back millions of years..........and is most likely based upon the Bible when God told Adam and Eve they must now cover their bodies in 'shame' [after eating the apple]...so the seeds of the concept of being 'shamed' if one saw your body were sown quite early.

BTW the Western world, particularly the USA is the MOST duplicitous when it comes to this subject.

Western Europeans are much more open about the nude body, though naturally they dress in normal public arenae

It has been drilled into us since childhood because of religious beliefs I think. But there is a difference. Nudity is being nude without being ashamed about. being naked is being in the nude and actaully being ashamed of it. I think it was from the church sayingthe body is dirty and if you were to stare you would be breaking a few commandments.

I dont know, but I can say that I think clothes sometimes is more appealing than just full on nudity, it's kinda fun to leave a little to the imagination.

Yes, well some of the women feel that the sight of us nude to a man who is at half staff just feels awkward! Know what I mean? And how about if we are nude and the man is NOT at half staff?? Which would be worse? Thanks for the Thought Though!! Hmmmmmmmm @80)
