You are joking right?? Having a baby is a very big responsibility. You should first have a good paying job, cuz who's going to buy the diapers and formula? Next you need a roof over the babys head, how are you going to pay the rent? Next a baby is time consuming your up all night and still need to function the next day without sleep. Not to mention FOOD, Clothes, toys, bathing supplies, a crib, and other things. I think you need to wait until you have grown up a little more. What about medical insurance???Are you willing to pay for it or are you going to sponge off the government? I think if I am correct you still probably see a pediatrician yourself. I didn't get to see a OBGYN until I was 18. That's because your body is still not mature enough to carry a baby.
I got pregnant with my first at 19 and had him at 20 then my second I had at 21. Then I got married and had my daughter at 24 and now at 26 I will be giving birth to TWINS in less then 2 weeks. Its not all its cracked up to be!!
I hope this puts things into perspective for you and that you wait at least another year or 2.
I have to add that the father of my first 2 boys left me while I was pregnant both times. We never got back together the 3 time he left me after I gave birth to my second son!!
And dont say"ohhh well my Boyfriend will never leave ME" Cuz he can and probably will you are both soooo young he doesnt know what he wants. And when your like 5 months pregnant and some young pretty skinny girl starts hitting on him he may just say to you "I dont think this is going to work out between you and I." And then there you are left pregnant and to care for a baby HE wanted to begin with, and ALL alone. And then what will you do?

If you're boyfriend bugged you long enough about jumping off a cliff would you do that too?
Don't get caught up in all the emotions of "wanting" a baby. How would you pay for a baby? If any part of your answer to that question involves money from the government then you're not ready to have a baby. Do some research and you'll find out that if you become a teen mom, your child will more than likely also become a teen parent and we're supposed to want better for our kids. Being a parent is hard. I can't stess that enough, and a 16 year old is just not ready for that. Thank your lucky stars that you haven't gotten pregnant yet and start using protection.

Goodness gracious girl! Trust me, I understand what you're going through. I felt that same way at one point when i was 16-19 yrs old. I had a boyfriend (with whom i was sooooo in love and needed him and wanted to marry him and wanted to have his kids then too), but 7-8 years later, i don't even speak to that guy anymore and now i'm engaged to someone that i didn't even know back then. Your life changes so much once you get out of high school. You meet new people, you go different places... Take your time girl. It's not easy raising kids these days. I graduated, have a great job that pays a lot of money and now i'm expecting my first baby and i'm still nervous and know we're gonna struggle. Take a step back and imagine your life with a baby. No more hanging out, no parties, no more being a kid. You're not "playing house" when you bring a new life into this world. This is real. Think about what you're doing girl... Trust me, if you haven't conceived yet, God is granting you a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, -110th chance-blessing. Don't do something that you might regret.

yes, i would take it as a sign to not get pregnant. the last thing you want right now is a baby you have to tend to....at such a young age. imagine having to deal with school on top of the needs of a baby. it will not be easy for you, when right after school, you'll have to go straight home, to care for you child...if you're lucky and your parents are willing to your child. you might even have to juggle some kind of job, so you can provide for the needs of the child. you'll even be lucky if your bf sticks around with you, after the baby is born. it'll be a big reality check, when the both of you realize you wish you both never got into that situation. having a baby is not easy and not cheap. there are lots of challenges to having a baby and you have to constantly buy things for the baby. right now the both of you think you want a child....in reality you two are on this high of having each other that you're willing to do anything.
before you continue on wanting a child, try babysitting someone's newborn or infant and see how that goes. trust me you won't like it....it'll be too draining. my best advice to you is finish school. then continue onto college and once you've graduated from college, find yourself a good paying job with the degree you've gotten from college. once you have a job and a partner that will be there for you no matter what....maybe then think about having kids. at least then you'll be better prepared for anything, that may arise in a family setting.

U r 2 young 4 a baby. Children require so much from their parents. And u have so much 2 look forward too, u really don't want 2 spend it taking care of a child that will need u for the rest of its life. U should think about this decision long and hard b4 u get pregnant. I know bcause I was 19 when I gave birth 2 my first child, but I turned 20 later on in the year. His father and I had also talked about having a baby but he left after our son turned ten months old, claiming I was bringing him down bcause of the responsibility of having to buy milk, pampers, clothes, etc. I have been taking care of him since Dec. of 1997 on my own and it has been a struggle, but w/faith we just keep moving on. What I'm trying 2 say is consider your life b4 u consider your boyfriend and a baby that didn't ask 2 b here.

It's a sign that you should start thinking and acting like an adult since you so badly want to be one. Your boyfriend wants a child, but has he discussed how you two would raise the child or what would happen if (heaven forbid) something happens to either you or him or the baby? You should focus on your education. The only reason someone should want a child is because they feel that they are capable of giving this child the life it deserves, and how will you be able to do that if you haven't finished school yet? If he loves you so much, why can't you guys wait until you're financially stable? It will be so much better for the baby.

Yes, it's a sign!! You are not ready to have a baby yet. You've still got some growing to do yourself.
It's all very well for your boyfriend to say he'd love to have kids, but it's not him who is going to be pregnant for nine months, suffer the hormonal ups and downs of pregnancy, spend g-d knows how long in labour and then feed and care for the little one. It can take a long time for a relationship to settle down after having a baby and you haven't even been together for very long.
If your boyfriend is sincere about wanting a baby, tell him you both need to finish school and start working and you have to have a place for you all to live before you get pregnant.
One last thing - you may be interested to know that the babies of younger mothers tend to have a slightly lower IQ than those of older mothers - so wait and have smarter kids!!

WOW, the youth of America. There is a lot more to being a parent then someone your age could even begin to understand. As a matter of a fact, when I had my first child at 21 I didn't understand everything, and I had a good job and everything. There are more things than diapers and formula, there are ilnesses, and shots, and what daycare to go to, and hey should I go to prom or use the money for my kid? It is not like babysitting at all, and hey I love both of my kids very much, and I wouldn't trade them for the world, but you are still a kid yourself. There are lots of things that you need to experience still. And you are only 16 there are lots of things that could change, you don't even know what true love is yet. Is it possible that your bf may not be the right one? Yes it is, because neither of you are grown up enough to know. How would you support this baby? I have two kids, 3 1/2 years and 8 months, both in daycare, only one in diapers. It is $720 a month in daycare, about 100 a month for formula, generic brand, 100 a month in diapers, generic brands, my health insurance covers 100% of well baby check ups that are every month, but only part of immunizations, every two months, then if they get sick, which they often do, there are those medical bills, I have about 1500 in medical bills right now, out of my pocket, oh and after my insurance paying 80% of the cost, it was about $4000 out of my pocket just for prenatal care and hospital bills for delivery and recovery. I can go on and on forever about how expensive kids are, and me and my husband have good jobs at two of the best places to work in town, and we still struggle from time to time. Yes I do think they are worh every cent of it, and they are worth all of the sleepless nights, but I am a grown woman now, and I can support myself without government assistance and I get so upset with young children that want to have kids and a family but it is my tax dollars that take care of those children, so that you can go on to finish your teen years while being a parent. I understand that accidents happen, but when you lay down, you should know, with or without protection, you could become pregnant, and if you are not fully ready to take on that responsibility, then put a nickle between your knees and hold it there until you are, in short keep your legs closed and your pants on!!!! Finish being a child before you start to raise one.

Please listen to the advice you have been given to wait. Having a child is a wonderful experience when you are ready for it. You must be capable of taking care of this child in all sense of the word. You can't think that taking care of means to feed and change diapers. Formula and diapers must come from somewhere. They are very expensive. A child is expensive and a lot of work. It's not just fun and games. The child deserves more than that. He did not ask to be born and to come into a situation such as you are planning. Stop thinking about yourself and think of an innocent child that may suffer in the long run because of your stupidity. Stop having sex and get an education. Talk to someone. Where are your parents?? His parents???

I think that you have just answered your own question. You are too young to have a child. You still have a full life ahead of you that is going to drastically change if you have a child. Ask yourself these questions:
Will my BOYFRIEND (operative word) stick around after the baby is born?
Who will watch the baby while I am at school and work?
Do I have the money to support a child? Diapers, clothing, furniture, shoes, formula, etc. are NOT free
Am I mature enough to raise a child?
It takes money to support a child and maturity to raise a child. Can you guarantee that you will have your family's support when this child is born?
Why does your boyfriend want a child so much? How old is he? Do you know your boyfriend well enough to have sex with him without protection (STDs, HIV, AIDS, etc.)?
Please think about these things before you bring a child into the world you have plenty of time.
