If they have taken the time to voice their misconceptions , I'll most often just yank their chain a bit and walk off without spilling my guts or making any attempt to sway their opinion . I wouldn't show any emotion when doing so even if I were upset .

I don't really try to prove myself anymore. The misconseptions made to me are ones that scoiety has deemed... so there's too many people to fight it. I just rise above it, and end up looking better than them, even though they think I'm some kind of horrible person. I like being the bigegr person and blowing most people off. It's an easier life if you don't let people get to you. Even if it's an everyday occourance. Not many people are still strong these days.

For the most part, the people that matter to me already have accurate perceptions of me. A person's opinion in an of itself doesn't matter to me that much. How the person acts on that opinion is a different story. If someone with an inaccurate perception proceeds to take actions that will damage my professional reputation or are hurtful to my family, then I might address the issue.

I'm seen as a goody two shoes by most people who first meet me (and many who have known me for a long time). A lot of people, for some unknown reason, think that I am a self confident person who can take on more than I really am capable of. If only they saw me for who I really am...

Not really, although it just might depend on the person, if I feel that this is someone who would be a positive addition to my life and we just got off on the wrong foot, then I might try to clear things up.

Sure, to set the record straight. It feels good to clear the air, and so many problems are avoided by doing so as well as seeing what went wrong in hindsight.

No, I give them no notice. People like that will always have misconceptions, I won't fall in their trap! I know who I am.
