Cats will help to keep the yard "snake free"

The other answers are correct, moth balls will repel most snakes. They contain the same active ingredient as all the snake repellents you can buy, aromatic naphtha. And moth balls are a LOT cheaper. They don't work on 'copper heads' though. Out door cats or geese will also help. And so will 'Guinea Hens'. I had several pest control customers in TX that kept the Guinea Hens for tha reason. Keeping the area around the house free of weeds, brush, debris and wood piles will also help.

I wouldn't suggest killing the snakes. Most snakes that you would find eat mice, rats, and insects which you are probably worse off having around your house. You can however keep them further away from your house. Clear away the underbrush, rocks, and fallen logs (leaving the living trees alone) for about 15 feet into the woods along your property. That is where they live and where their food lives. If you restrict that then they will avoid that area for lack of food and shelter.

before everything do you recognize what species they're? Are they venomous? in the event that they're you need to get a professional animal relocator, who won't kill them yet pass them to a organic region. in the event that they do no longer look to be venomous, why hardship? they're attracted via rodents around your place, be grateful!! they're valuable! maximum snakes do no longer dig holes via the way, you have rodents doing that. The snakes pass interior the holes to get those rodents and could frequently take over and use it for preserve.

I live in the woods with snakes and stuff and what i have found is moth balls. take moth balls and put them either around the property lines( to keep them off the property) or around your house(to keep them from the house) and the snakes, spiders and other stuff won't cross them. make sure you place the balls 2-4 inches apart for maximum results

Unless you really like geese (they keep snakes away) you can put moth balls around. Snakes, racoons, and many other critters hate them. Remember, you will have to replace them after it rains a few times. Good luck!

I don't know about something to kill them unless a garden hoe does the trick. To make them stay away use mothballs. Wonderful for a lot of critters. Good luck
