All depends on what kind of crying, tears of joy or tears of sadness. For tears of sadness, crying for me does not occur at the time of hearing the song but on deep reflection of the subject such as abuse, domestic violence, drunk driving, etc. Or when an artist dies and listening to their music, with the knowledge that that is the last thing they produced and were actively a part of its production. Either way it all depends on the moment, the situation, in order for the song to draw such an emotion from listening to the song.

Valentine, by Martina McBride and Jim Brickman. I loved the song when it first came out, because I married my husband on Valentine's Day, but then I saw the video, and she's sitting on her husband's grave singing the song to him. Gulp! Sob! Oh, there I go again just thinking about it!
