Maybe some women are hypocrites as I believe some men are. You cannot stereotype all women or men into one category. Feminism is the belief that both genders are entitled to equality. This goes for men and women, so we have no discrination based on gender, age, class, ability, culture, sexual orientation etc.
Anti feminists state that women should not be allowed to benefit in the job market because they take time off for preganancy and child rearing, yet at the same time they insist that women should stay home. Antifeminism is the problem since they want the best of both worlds and women are the ones that are penalized.
When a woman like Geraldine Ferrara (sic) was involved in politics and her son had problems they immediately blamed it on her despite the fact this child also had a father. Now that is gender discrimination.
I think the fact that you asked this question in the first place knowing full well then answer speaks volumes of your own discrimation towards women and allowing them to have choices.

Well women cry gender discrimination pretty much everytime they dont get their way. You dont want to do the chores because you work and she doesnt ? Gender discrimination. She cant join the firefighters because she did not pass the test ? Genderdiscrimination. She can not join the gentelmans club, because the owner of the club does not want her ? Gender discrimination. It is never about discrimination or any orther ism or ion, but about getting their way and they will use whatever magic word does the trick.

I want to get a job based on my qualifications and who I am, not what gender I am. If a man with qualifications that exceed my own is up for the same job and he's not a complete *** I would expect him to get the job over me. I don't want to be hired just to full fill a quota.

As far a chivalry goes, I don't mind paying the tab if I ask a man out (well at least when I was single), but I expect the tab to be picked up if he asked me on the date. Common courtesy denotes that the person who reaches the door first should open it. I like to have my door opened, but would do the same for others...male or female.

When a woman wants to cry and pull the gender card, she is mainly a dissapointment to other females due to the fact that she feels she is worthy of something because she is a woman.

Most women don't.

Most women have the self respect to act like real people and not pretend discrimination exists against them.

This is basically the feminist argument of 'the patriarchy', where men refuse to let women into any jobs because that might threaten the male 'power' that men hold over all women.

Of course, it's all complete rubbish.

Just to note: 'the glass ceiling' does not exist. Men prefer jobs in leadership, men work for more years of their lives (most women take time out for childcare) and men work longer hours. THAT is the great feminist conspiracy that plagues us all.

Gosh, ask loaded questions much? Sounds like you've already made your decision on this issue and are making a statement instead of asking an honest question.

Do women do this? News Flash: Some do, some don't. Some men do it too, and some men exploit their power to women's disadvantage and some don't. Everyone is different. Perhaps you need to spend more time examining the entire problem and less time making sweeping generalizations. Just a thought.

because they system makes it profitable to do. Like being black and female when you apply for admission to law school. And making babies out of wedlock to avail yourself of all sorts of government benefits. Charging the Pentagon $500.00 for tack hammer. Risking nothing by violating SEC insider trading rules than a year or so at Club Fed, and still being a multimillionaire when you get out. Hiring a shyster to sue for millions over your being nipped on the ankle by a beagle. You name it.

We're a nation of crybabies, cheats and want everything for nothing spoiled, squabbling products of a whorehouse of a political system that got votes by convincing everybody they could fart at each other over a lit candle without anybody ever getting their butts burnt.

I think it about time we all started stocking up on aloe, meself.

Just like anyone else in any other situation-- discriminatory or not, I would imagine.
People do things that are rewarding and beneficial, it has NOHTING to do speicifically with gender or discrimination issues but human psychology.

Yep, they sure do! We want to eliminate the glass ceiling and ensure that equal opportunity for career advancement exists. But for many women, just see the reaction you'd get if the man pays only half the cheque...or better yet, leaves it for the woman to pick up. Chivalry, somehow, is supposed to be separate from feminism. Sigh.

Yes. The posters above say men do it too. Do you hear any men shouting ''gender descrimintation''? I sure don't.
