The government does not set the price of gas any more than it supports price fixing in the medical business. The Bilderberg group sets the price and tells the government what it will be, in both cases.
Anybody who thinks that any business is not under control of the government has had their head in a warm dark place. Likewise anybody who doubts that the government and the largest businesses (oil, medical, banking and insurance) are controlled by the same interlocking cadre.

Uh, gas isn't supplied by the government. The government is only involved in taxing the gas and possibly by releasing reserves, neither of which provides them with an inordinately high profit.
Gas prices rise in the spring and summer months because demand for it rises - basic supply and demand driving prices just like everything else in this country. If you are concerned about long-term gas prices, complain to the cartel OPEC because they - not the goverment - control supply.
Also, Americans pay very little to our government in relation to other countries, so stop complaining.
And gas is cheap in America compared to most western countries.

The government doesn't care about average americans--they are too busy lining their pockets with the money they're making off the oil companies and the rise in prices.

Obama will make our gas expenditures upward push whilst he implements a providence income tax, will improve capital valuable properties tax, and will improve the taxes of employers that hire American workers. McCain might attempt to get some greater relatives drilling. yet neither is conversing approximately increasing refining skill. Whoever wins, gas expenditures will the two upward push extensively or stay an identical. Neither one is addressing the real reasons for intense gas expenditures (falling dollar, speculators, loss of refining, etc.).

Ya just gotta thank the libs and the tree huggers for the problem. We have enough oil in Alaska to solve the problem, but the Caribou might have to find a different migration route around the pipelines. Environmentalists have screwed up drilling there and off shore. Don't blame the entire government, just a few congressmen and senators that support all that bull-crap. Ya hear me Gore.

We could start by adding to the global warming problem and not use a summer blend of gas that is more environmentally friendly and costs 40-50 cents a gallon more; but I'm not sure that's what you are looking for.

if you were knowledgeable about this, you'd know all the gas comes from the middle east, where they can price the gas how they want. you'd hock up the price too if Americans were running all over your country.
