This may sound stupid but I really don't care, I want to know the answer so I don't end up hurting myself. I have a really bad cold and no insurance so I can't go to the doctor. I have been taking Tylenol cold nighttime medicine to help me sleep but I just read on the side that u souldn't be taking it if u are currenly taking a MAOI (which is for depression), and I've been taking medicine for depression for several months now. What could happen to me? I've been taking the medicine for about 5 days and I just found that warning on the bottle. Nothing has happened yet and I don't want to stop taking it cuz it helps me sleep at night with this awful cold. What could it be doing to me on the inside???

It basically just stops the affect of the other medication you are taking. In most cases you can have side effects ranging from naseau to rage, to worsened depression. It counter acts the meds you are on. Some people do not experience any side effects, so if you are not then kudos. I can't take anything like that with mine, it puts me into serious rage. Contact your pharmacy for more information about the specific med you are on.

You need to consult a doctor because it could nbe harmeful to you. When I was taking anti-depressants I took nyquil and the combination was awful. I was pretty mcuh drugged and very drwosy. If nothing has happened to you and you have taken it could be that the combination is not bad, but don't take risks. Consult someone, maybe a local clinic, they can check in a book if the combination is acceptable. I am sure you can find a site online that does this as well. Be sure to take precaution when you combine medication, your health is more important than being able to sleep with a cold, try to drink tea at night (not caffinated) it will relax you. I hope you feel much better soon!

Check your phone book and look under poison control and talk to the experts there. It doesn't cost anything and they can ease your mind. But depending on what you take Paxil and that stuff doesn't seem to do any harm.. your talking about rare effects and that is a small percentage of the population.

call a pharmacy--they can answer any questions you have about drug interactions and adverse effects.
