Setting up Committees - Any advice on first steps/governance? Or Rules of Procedure to share?

Am looking to set up a network of professionals within my organisation, and would appreciate any advice folks can offer on initial steps. The network will also in time require rules to govern how it is run, so if anyone has any Rules of Procedure that they can share, that would be particularly useful.

Sounds like an interesting project and you must work for a fairly large organization to need rules to govern it in the future. I haven't worked with any organization large enough to need this kind of structure, but I am a part of LinkedIn, a similar concept that is web based. You might look at their organization and structure to see what might be of use in your group.
