I'm a model (amongst other things) and I think there are so many different types of modelling these days, it doesn't really matter. If you were going to do catwalk then they are looking for merely bags of bones. Regular, most for catwalk agencies prefer:
Bust- no more than 36-38inches
Waist- no more than 30-32 inches
Hips- no more than 38inches

I'm a 34/28/34 but I'm only 5ft2- I don't get enough work to be supporting as a full time job at my size, but I've had a bit and also been invited to Miss Teen Dream pageant in London. I use my White witch and Artist skills primarily for income. I think there are modelling jobs for a many multitudes of shapes and sizes these days so it doesn't really matter. So for photographic work, it doesn't matter so much unless you want to model for topshop or other highstreet shops that promote size 0 (it's like a 4-6 in UK). It's more about overall look, personality and working the camera.

Typical runway measurements are stereotyped as being 32-24-32 . 32 being a size 1, i think, I'm a 33. Not always but usually. Just remember that you have to be very toned.

I am 5'10'' and wear XS in summer and S in winter. I am no model myself but all models I've seen are leaner than me, so I suppose she will have to wear XS (but a C or D cup bra). But the problem is, agencies look for height, not only for size, so it may be that they say 5'8'' is not big enough for an adult model (of course they'll accept it in a teenager model).

It's about proportions, not size.
