Lots of people with bad breath have stomach problems.
Clorets which have chlorophyll in them work well for this condition.
You need to ask them if they are having problems with their stomach... if they say yes, tell them their breath is bad and tell them Clorets will help.
If they have bad teeth, then nothing much masks that odor. they usually can't chew anything sweet. cause it hurts...
If they have gum problems(pyorrhea) then they can Gargle with a powder(Amosan) that can help their gums heal and get rid of the smell.
Garlic and spicy food can linger for a long time.
Clorets do help.
Some people buy chlorophyll at the herb stores and take it daily because of their breath.
it also works for dogs......

Offer them a mint, and if that isn't enough...
1. Give them a new tooth brush
2. shove toothpaste into their grocery cart when thier not looking.
3. Tell them how much you enjoyed a certain strong gum (*WINK WINK*)
4. (And if all else fails) RUN SCREAMING "My eyes! They burn with the intense stench of your breath!"

Offer him gum or mints and candidly tell him it takes more than that to cure his halitosis. If he still doesn't get it, be direct and tell him that bad breath is a social no-no.

tough depends on your relationship with them. take out some mints in front of them and offer, take out some of those listerine strips or leave reading material around about the causes of bad breath.

If you're close to them, pull them aside and say "Hey, lately I've noticed that your breath doesn't smell the freshest. Are you using a new toothpaste?"
If you aren't close, forget it.

Buy them some mints and give it to them as a gift. Just say that you thought they might want to use them.

You could be rude and say "Dude, did you eat dog poo?" or you could just take out a piece of gum for yourself and offer it to them. Afterall, your just being friendly.
