He should be fine. Snakes eat whole animals all the time and can easily poop out the bones. It should work the same.
Just make sure he is eating and pooping the same as usual

it should be ok if it was a small piece, it should pass un-digested in the next poop. Thats why as a experianced snake owner and handler i always place my snakes in a diffrent container when feeding. One that is all plastic and no substrate inside. SO they can eat uncontaminated food, especially food that is wet or needs to be wet like earth worms and fish where the substrate will stick to there skins. Also its easier to clean up and disinfect after the cleaning and especially if he is anything like my many snakes in the past they always wanted to crap right after they ate, this saved the multiple cleaning of his living quarters and i could easily clean the nasty stuff up after he was done eating and digesting a little. Also it was a good way to be sure your handling your snake more and not neglecting his socialization time.

that depends on the size of the bark... If you are worried enough to ask, I would suggest a trip to the vet, and some surgury to remove the peice. Garters don't live on bark in the wild, so it is unlikely that the peice will pass on it's own.
Good luck! I hope your little guy makes it.
(Please take it to a vet, death by impaction is an aweful death for a reptile...)

Wild snakes swallow debris all the time while feeding & usually have absolutely no troubles whatsoever. You've got to remember how strong the digestive juices of a snake really are to pretty much completely dissolve bone & fur & scales.

The snake will just harmlessly pass it, undigested.
Side note:
We used to feed goldfish to our garter snakes. We put the fish in a cereal bowl and it was cool to watch them hover over the water and grab the fish. Just make sure the fish go in head-first, otherwise the snake could have a hard time swallowing it.

depends how big the bark is. If small- no problem. If big- it could tear him up or cause a blockage.
Please do not feed your snake on substrates that could harm them. The only thing I feed my snakes on is ecoearth (ground up coconut fibers) because they are so small.

should be OK, but that is why other substrates are preferred because bark can cause digestive problems when accidentally eaten with food. good luck with your snake.
hope i helped.
