So many people think like that and I am no exception. It's really hard to be law biding when the people who make the laws aren't! I don't think there is a good answer to your question. Just do what you think is right.

Actually, I don't think the whole government is crooked.
But the main thing is that laws are there because the American People decided (as a whole) that they needed to be there. That's what the government is for: to make rules on how people should live together that are supported by the majority of the people. Just because the person enforcing those laws doesn't always act on those laws, doesn't mean the laws themselves don't have a reason.
The only excuse for not abiding the law is when the law itself is morally absolutely wrong. As in Nazi Germany, when to obey the government meant helping the murder of millions of innocent people. In most cases though, the law is merely annoying, not morally wrong. In those cases there really isn't a good excuse not to abide by them. As others here have said: just because someone else behaves badly, doesn't give you a reason to stoop to their level.

If so many people weren't lemmings keeping count of how many deviants had sex with the harlot Paris Hilton, then they would know what is happening to their country. The idiots in government CAN be recalled, as they are ELECTED officials who aren't doing their jobs. Instead, they think they are kings who rule over their people, and are selling the country from under their feet. YOU elect them, YOU are the boss. But like I said, most of these lemmings have their heads so far up Britney Spears' *ss, they don't know what's going on around them.

It may be that you should live by the law because you are more ethical person than the kleptocrats. The country needs ethical people, not more crooks.

Hi, this is Chad at the Crisis Center. We appreciate your call. A little rebellion is a good thing, and it is important to point out injustices where you see them, but its not a good idea to use other people's corrupt nature as an excuse to be corrupt yourself. Thanks for calling and have a nice day.

God hold each individual responsible for his/her own actions. Just because the man in from of you jumps off of a perfectly good cliff does that mean that you are going to be stupid and follow after him?

Hopefully, you don't obey the law for others. You obey the because you know it is the right thing to do.
