I wouldn't let it worry you. I am 27 and have had about a dozen jobs so far ranging from music production to care work to beer testing (that was a cool job).
If I don't like what I'm doing or a better opportunity comes up then I change. I know this doesn't make for a good career because people want to see that you can stick to a certain type of job for a certain amount of time, but I think it's more important to enjoy what you're doing and to live life.

Same here .I finished my Associates degree and a career counselor told me to go get a job. I needed a new job anyway because my former boss was getting on my nerves and I knew that I would no longer hold that job. I registered for numerous staffing agencies for work and they all slam the door in my face due to lack of experience. Now that I have 6 months of work experience, I still am waiting for my big break which is to be a clerk and help out somebody in the office, So, I had no choice but a financial choice. A 4 year degree costs me a lot which I don't have.

Don't stick at anything that's boring or dull. My boyfriend doesn't know what he wants to do and I want a be a writer (ha ha, as if!!) so we're pretty buggered too!! Try stuff, you never know. I did admin work before I went to uni and I f*cking hated it!! It's worth shopping about for something decent, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week is a long time to be bored or miserable. As to how many people have a career plan and stick to it - I don't know one person who's done that!!

This is a good question. After teaching for 12 years, I am leaving it to work at home and spend more time with my family. I work from home for a wonderful company that is a member of the BBB, offers full training, and supports me every step of the way. I set my own hours and answer to no one. If you enjoy helping others, working on the computer, and are interested in making your home a safer place as well, it may be for you. Visit my profile if you are interested.

i think if u went to a university it was because u knew what courses to take and for what career u wanted to take them for, so if u really didnt want to do that as a career u shouldn't have wasted $ and time taking courses u didnt need. So if u dont want to do get a career in whatever u went to school for, i guess try to find something u really like so u wont be stuck in a job u hate.

Most people feel the way you do unless they have a family business to go into. Without wishing to sound trite, you have to do what you love. Don't underestimate yourself and settle for what comes along. For instance, why not start your own business. It does not have to cost a lot especially if you have an online business.
Hope this helps.

Most people follow what they enjoy doing or are interested in doing. If you've always loved animals, you might be interested in being a vet, etc. If you don't know what you want to do, then trying different things is a good start.

Think about what you would just Love to do every day. What would make you feel like you acomplished something each day or every time you did it? Your job should be gratifying. When you find that, then you'll have your answer and know in what direction to go.
