im in a fantasy league at mlb.com called the 2007 MLB OPEN and you're awarded points based on how each of you're players do in each game...... and you also earn points based on how the overall team pitching staff does too...

STARTERS
Russell Martin (C , LAD)- Young potential, can hit and will start
RYAN HOWARD(1B , PHI)-say no more
Jorge Cantu (2B , TB)- coming off an injury... in 2005 hit .286 with 28 H.R's and 117 r.b.i's...and is healthy
Chipper Jones (3B , ATL)- bottom line... when he's healthy he can hit...2006 hit .324 and slammed 26 H.R's in 110 games
Carlos Guillen (SS , DET) - one of the most if not the most under rated shortstops in baseball...
Josh Willingham (OF , FLA) - good bet to hit atleast .280 and 30 homers...hit 26 last year and he's only 27
ALFONSO SORIANO (OF , CHC) - anybody remember that 40 H.R. 40 steals he put up last year
CARL CRAWFORD (OF, TB) - estimated 20+ homers and 60 steals...great all around player
Los Angeles Dodgers-pittching staff

Its decent. The thing with the MLB Open is that the leagues are shallow, so everyone has a good team.

I don't think you'll improve your starters, but look at the waiver wire and see if you can improve your bench (though I like hvaing Ordonez and Beltre as backups. And in fact, you'll want Ordonez to start over Willingham. And Cantu is a risk, but he could do well. You might want to see if Howie Kendrick is on the waiver wire -- another 2nd baseman who has a great upside.) One strategy I like is having at least two pitching staffs, and using the one with the best matcvhups / most games that week. (The pitching points are weighted towards wins) The Cards have miserable pitching, though they will win a lot. You may be alble to do better than them as another choice.

You are the luckiest person alive if you got this fantasy team. It is definitely championship winning. However, later in the season or even now you may need to resolve pitching issues at the bottom of the rotation.

Crawford, Soriano and Howard - this is either a 3 person league or you should be prosecuted for taking advantage of the handicapped kids.

Its not too bad. You need to upgrade 3 people on your bench and somehow find a good 2ber. But I think you would make a championship. (you may need some help thou to win.) (BTW bench Willingham for Magg O..)

u hav 2 REALLY GOOD pitching staffs
trade 1 of them for a better catcher, i.e. pudge, mauer, varitek, posada, etc.
