Where are the best place to post such ad? I'm in Maryland by the way

Finding adopters through a newspaper add can be a bit risky, (for the animals). People who get free animals from that resource might not have the best intentions. You would hate for someone to get them for their pet python. A shelter group would probably be your best option if no one you know wants them. Here is the web site for a shelter in Maryland.

If you can keep them with you for a while they may be able to find and adopter to take them directly from you without them having to be housed by the shelter.

Maryland is kind of a good place to find shelters. When I worked at a pet store in Philadelphia (not very far) there were an unusual number of shelters. I would say that your first bet would be to put an ad in your local paper or on Petfinder.org in the Classified section (that's where I found my second chin). After that I would Google some chinchilla websites. There are a ton out there, and many of them have sections where you can post adoptable chins or get the names of chinchilla shelters. I would be hesitant to take the chin to a regular dog shelter, although the ASPCA is required to take her if you bring her in. They may or may not be really equipped to take care of her properly, and the experience can be a bad or even deadly one for her.

Good luck

You could put an ad in the newspapers. Or even go to a shelter.

i would put the word out to people i know first, then if you dont find anyone, i would put an add out in the paper, but i wouldn't give them away for free, chinchillas are expensive and someone who gets it for free might not take it as a serious responsibility.

i'm putting my little chin up for sale soon :( i will miss her, but her mom is preggers again.

Craigslist is an awesome place to put an ad! It's http://www.craigslist.com

I'm in MD too, and I've always wanted chincillas! My email is manda5284@yahoo.com if you want to send me some more info!

Maybe your friend can go back to the pet store where she got them! They might take them back, or give her some names of people that are interested in them.
