Can you prune them to make them bloom better.

It depends on your climate zone. They are hardy shrubs with lovely pinkish to red flowers that bloom in spring and will keep blooming for a long time. They generate new growth from the bottom. They prefer full sun and well drained soil. But be sure to water well and frequently when first planted.

I'm not so sure pruning would help the bloom. You can prune for size and shape right after they're done blooming.
