no they cannot take your rate of pay and reduce it; unless you are asked to step down from a higher position. also it is illegal to do so. for disciplinary action they should use formats such as suspension from work without pay; written warnings, verbal warnings and if need to be termination

I really dont think they can do that, maybe reduce your hours but not your hourly rate. I guess it depends on the employer.

An employer can do what he chooses as long as it does not go below minimum wage. What they are probably trying to do is to make you quit however. If there is a union involved then there may be other rules they have regarding this.

i never thought they could do that so yes double check...
but i do know if it states it in the hand book they can!
I would consier it a blessing that youi didn't get fired that they can do!
