England can definitely make a claim having defeated the Germans in the '66 World Cup finals 4-2. Most of the good German players including Lehmann and Ballack play in the EPL. Finally, the first 2 times the teams played each othe the English won 13-2 and 10-2.

Correction, Germany have never won the World Cup. They did win the European Championship once, in 1996. Check your facts.
