I am not asking if you believe in a God or not. I am asking whether you WANT one to exist?

No. I have no such need or want. Maybe others do, and I respect that. But I don't.

What I WANT is more time alive, and more opportunities to experience what gives me joy...the sights, sounds and smells of raw nature. The love of my spouse and family. Good health. Time to learn and write on the topics that are important to me. Because my time alive is all too brief, and it all will end too soon and at a time unknown to me.

Yes it would be the cruelest joke on mankind if He does not exist, like "Imagine" by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Hmmm, I guess I'd just like to *know* one way or the other. Take away any form of *belief* and give me some hard evidence.

If I had to chose one way or ther other, I'd say I would prefer that there was a god. Then at least I'd feel taken care of.

I do, because it assures that even if the guilty get away in this world, if they don't repent, they'll get theirs in the next, plus, I have to admit that the thought of just ing out someday scares me, or would, if I didn't believe God exists.

Only if He has the power to get the religions to agree on God. By not doing this, just look at all the fighting and turmoil in the world from religion/sectarian violence and disagreement.

NO. Absolutely not. I prefer the mysterious, abstract perfection of a universe that is entirely self-created according to the laws of physics that we are barely beginning to understand. But then, to me, the concept of a personal or anthropomorphic god is just ridiculous. I also have no interest in an afterlife (heaven or hell), although reincarnation might be rather interesting...

I'd rather be on my own in life, thanks.
