I think it is a lot like the NAACP. Both are racist groups.

A racist, anti-Semitic movement with a commitment to extreme violence to achieve its goals of racial segregation and white supremacy. Of all the types of right-wing hate groups that exist in the United States, the Klan remains the one with the greatest number of national and local organizations around the country.
More than 40 different Klan groups exist, many having multiple chapters, or “klaverns,” including a few that boast a presence in a large number of states. There are over a hundred different Klan chapters around the country, with a combined strength of members and associates that may total around 5,000.
After a period of relative quiet, Ku Klux Klan activity has spiked noticeably upwards in 2006, as Klan groups have attempted to exploit fears in America over gay marriage, perceived “assaults” on Christianity, crime and especially immigration
America’s first true terrorist group.

Personally, I feel that they are hateful and I strongly disagree with their views. There are many racist groups out there, be they WASP, Black, or any other race/nationality..., and even though many feel they are wrong, they do have the freedom and the right to their views. In my personal opinion though, I don't think they need to say that white anglo-saxon protestants are the "true americans," because we are all descendants of immigrants regardless of our race/nationality/culture, the only real americans out there are the native americans, so I think the KKK needs to get their facts straight. I think its sad we just don't get along, what's supposed to be a melting pot where people are free to be who and what they are is instead a battleground of hatred and nonsense. That is my view, personally.

If they're so proud of what they do and what they stand for why do they hide behind white sheets? Why not come out and take credit for all of their "wonderful" acts and be responsible for their actions? Maybe they really aren't so proud and need to be taught how real human beings are supposed to behave in a civilized world.

America's Taliban at one time from 1915 to 1925. Now they are just a handful. Their influence is grotesquely exaggerated by the media. They outlived their time by 100 years.
At least Nazis don't wear masks.

They WERE something to be feared and hated. Today they are a white rascist boys' club. Very little action, but we should still take note of who joins them.

They are the worst domestic terrorist organization in the U.S. Yet their ideas touch many world wide. They are just sickening, evil and cruel.
