Adultery is between a man and his wife and his morals. Perjury in in many cases involves a larger issue with outside involvement in this case perjury involves innocent lives and the fabric of our nation. A democratic nation is based by its nature on honest discourse. Without that it ceases to be a democracy.

Based upon your question of what is worse for -=America=-, I'd have to say adultery based upon which is more widespread. Adultery destroys the fundamental family unit and can happen anywhere at anytime and is more prevelant than perjury. Perjury is only in court (you didn't say lieing) and therefore less prevelant. However, perjury is illegal while adultery is not stating the importance the government places on both issues.

BarB is right on. When you get married you take an oath to honor your marriage, and by committing adultery you are breaking that oath/lying to your partner. Perjury is just taking an oath covering a confined period. Because your oaths should be most valuable between those who are most important I think adultery would be worse. Clinton had it covered, just in case.

Perjury. And that was the reason for the move for impeachment...not adultery. If we villified all leaders for infidelity, we wouldn't have any leaders left!

What's the difference? They are both lies! How could one be worse than another if it affects the same people? If you'll commit adultery, you'll commit perjury or any other crime.
