There is a lot of space between my door and the casing. I can see light coming in between them. It seems as if my door has shranked.

You could add a piece of shim BEHIND the hinges to pull door away from casing on the hinge side, then install weather stripping.

If this is a metal storm door. The catch on the door frame may be adjustable. If this catch is not positioned correctly, then the door will latch but not be tight against the frame. You can adjust the catch by loosening the screws that hold it and move it inwards so the door will be tight when closed.

The easiest way is to add weather stripping between the door and casing.

Go to the hardware store and buy weather stripping ( it looks like thin strips of felt) and stuff it into the gaps using a blade screw driver. If the opening is really wide you may need to cover it with a strip of wood or buy some heavy duty caulking.
