"Lolita," Vladimir Nabokov.

Don't snicker. "Lolita" is not smut. "Lolita" is an intense tragi-comedy, parody, social satire, an exquisite garden bouquet of the beauty of the English language. It is above all those a love story, and it literally leaves me laughing aloud in some chapters and suppressing tears in others. I urge you to pick it up and read it (have a good dictionary handy!).

The best book I have ever read was 'Forever Amber'.
I am a romantic and this book tells the story of a young
country girl that makes her way to London. She is very
beautiful and starts to mix with royalty. I was so into the
story. It told the story of the plague, great fire of London
and much more. A story of Luxury and Poverty.
In fact - I think I'll go to the library and get it out again!

Lord of the rings! I first read it when i was 10 and i loved it and i have read it twice every year since then. The characters, the places, the feeling you get when you read it, the history and the depth of the book is amazing and J.R.R Tolkien is a great man and deserves to be known and appreciated for his lifes work for a very long time.

The Lord of the Rings. You notice new things every time you read it.

I have to admit, though, that the movies improved on it since they edited out the dead weight and moved some of the stories included in the appendices into the main plot.
