Jared Cotter's "American Idol" dream ended last night. After three weeks of mediocre performances, Cotter was the first of four semi-finalists to be eliminated by host Ryan Seacrest.
The Coram native seemed genuinely surprised that he had not garnered enough of the nearly 37 million votes cast in the past two nights to remain in contention. But judge Simon Cowell advised him that he needed to work on his vocals, while Randy Jackson urged him to be more original.
Three other contestants' "Idol" journeys also ended: Antonella Barba, 20, who has been embroiled in controversy since risque pictures of her were leaked on the Internet in February; Sabrina Sloan, 27; and Sundance Head, 28, who made a humorous appeal, "Somebody give me a job; I need a job."

Thank God Antonella got booted off. It was a big mistake that Sabrina was voted off it should have been Haley she can't sing. As far as the boys Jared wasn't that good I am disappointed Sundance got voted off. I don't think Sanjaya is that bad i say give the guy a break

Antonella latina? i think not! She would be a disgrace to our latino community. She is from what I know Italian? yeah my boyfriend is half Italian and said she IS a disgrace.

SABRINA SLOAN- I so diagree with her being kicked off. She was talented. And she's not latina, She's black, white & venezuelan.
ANTONELLA BARBA- It was about damn time. And she's NOT latina either.
SUNDANCE HEAD- He was talented too and definitely should have taken Sanjayas place.
JARED COTTER- I wasn't too thrilled with him, BUT he was damn sure better than Sanjaya.
