My childhood was painful and at 56 years old I have about five high school memories and maybe ten clear childhood memories. Several years ago when I was going through counseling, my counselor told me that our brains will block memories we don't want to re-live and that it's perfectly normal. She also said if there was something I really needed to remember I could probably recall that information. I thought I was just a major airhead...but not ;)! Have a great day! Annie

Lets me get this question straight, "Is it normal not to be able to remember very little... Does that mean you remember a lot about your childhood? Maybe you ought to be concerned with the English you never learned.

I remember stuff from when I was three years old. But a lot of people I know can't remember their childhood, and nothing bad happened to them to make them forget. So, I don't think ti's a problem.

I'm 19 and don't remember anything before I was 11.... people say I had to be traumatized somehow when I was little and repressed all my memories... but, like I said, I can't remember! It's not normal, but its not horrible either.
