At its melting point the LIQUID Oxygen is in equilibrium with SOLID Oxygen. At its boiling point, the LIQUID Oxygen is in equilibrium with the GASEOUS Oxygen.

Thus, at the melting point and boiling point, TWO physical states MUST exist.

At temperatures just above the melting point, you will only have the LIQUID state and at temperatures just after the boiling point, you will only have one Oxygen state - GAS.
