To reset your ipod do the following: Click the center and menu buttons simultaneously until the apple logo appears, when it appears it means that you have succesfully reset your ipod, WHEN YOU DO THIS NOTHING WILL BE DELETED FROM YOUR IPOD. And to restore it do the following:
Plug your ipod to your computer
Click start on your computer
Then all programs
ipod update
and when a window appears click where it says restore ipod to factory settings
WHEN YOU DO THIS PLEASE HAVE EVERYTHING BACKED BECAUSE EVERY FILE THAT THE IPOD HAS WILL BE DELETED. Hope this helped.

Press centre button + menu for 6-8 secs. You'll see apple logo appears and it'll function back again.
