Football is more watched because it's more violent. The top tv programs are the violent ones. Baseball is a the chess of sports.

Personally I like baseball better but Im a football fan too. The technical reason for more super bowl watchers is because they say the average american has a short attention span and baseball is more drawn out. But thats what makes it such a great game in my opinion. I mean i dont wanna go to a baseball game and have it end in 1 1/2 hours, Im just starting to get drunk by the 4th inning. Football is a great sport I love it but so is baseball and I dont think you should say football is better cause its really not . I would say they both have an equal appeal.

Because football is on once a week with only 16 games Baseball is every day with 162 games. Watching the superbowl has become a thing to do. You go to a party eat food drink beer and watch stupid commercials, how many people actully care about the game. Also it's one game opposed to possibly 7. If you think football is better that's just your opinion, not a fact.

Football: 16 games
Baseball: 162 games
You miss a football game you have to wait a week-ish.
You miss a baseball game you wait till tomorrow, or later that day.
Baseball is a game of skill and consistancy. It takes patience to understand all the nuances of the game and to trully appriciate it. Today's "fast-food" society doesn't have that patience anymore.
A perfect proof is when you ask someone about Harry Potter, Interview with the vampire, Lord of the rings, etc. You hear, "I saw that at the movies", or "I loved Tom Cruise in it". People don't realise that these were originally books, and ALOT better in written form.
So, long story short, my answer is patience, or rather lack there-of.
Ohhh and if you didn't want almost everyone to refute your question you should've posted it in the Football section not the Baseball one.

One reason is the number of games. Football teams play about once a week, while baseball is almost daily. With thirty teams playing 160 games a year, not including playoffs, world series and all-star game, there is basically a glut of baseball. Also, baseball has never fully recovered from it's string of player strikes a few years ago.

baseball is americas pastime, but no longer its favorite. this is because football has more action than baseball. children now days see football as the cool sport because of there parents influence. although being a allstar baseball player pays more than being a allstar football player they still go to football. it also has to do with the high school and colegiate level of the sports. high school football is more important than baseball at most schools. ncaa football is a must for every player inspiring to go to the nfl, but ncaa baseball is not require to go to the mlb. baseball requires patiance, something not alot of americans have.

If you combine all the football games, their season lasts about a month. 16 games including playoffs. So my guess is, less games means less chances to watrch them. As for a 162 baseball schedule, you can catch a game anytime. As for me, I will watch all 162 of my teams games this year.
