It is likely because they are forced to spend so much time together at work.

I thought they had affairs with nurses. Anywho. I think it is because they spend lots of time together and they feel that they connect with each other on some other level. Maybe they feel that only the other can understand the stress of the job and the time and energy put into it. Most definitely not the uniform, at least not these days because most nurses wear scrubs, also.

Doctors are a very special breed of people. Going to med school is a process of "brain washing" in alot of ways. They are trained to eat, sleep, breathe and poop medicine. They speak in medical terms day and night, and then they are sent out into the world to try to relate to people who don't speak their language. Nurses speak the langauge, or at least understand a lot of it. So it's not as much of a struggle for a dr. to communicate with a nurse. I personally think the nurses are probably more accepting of the oddities in personalities dr.s aquire from their years of med school.

A lot of marriages start out as office romances and since doctors and nurses work together a lot, it only makes sense that they get married a lot too.

They don't always but if you think about it, they're interests are common, their hours are long and there is an understanding that delays can occur, making life a little more understandable.
Police Officers sometimes marry nurses too.

Because most nurses actually can understand the doctors job, his hours, his commitment, his schedule and etc. I know 3 surgeons that married ICU nurses, and it seems like they have compatible lifestyles.

Hmm.. well I haven't heard this happens usually, but maybe it's because their schedules are the same and a bit hectic, so they understand eachothers' stand point? Who knows lol, I hope I marry a doctor someday.. haha.. j/k.

proximity, neither doctors nor nurses have enough time away from the hospital (or provider office) to look anywhere else for romance.
