It seems that many liberals just like the sound of their own voice.

When one lives in a clearly bipartisan society, the
magazines usually reinforce a person's LD or CR philosophies.
But every Republican has not, e.g.,
supported every U.S. military action or involvement
in South or Central America or in Asia, Africa or Europe.
& If you are a Democrat you don't have to believe we
should totally isolate the U.S. in terms of complete
pacifism. But the media is going to make you pay,
by construing political parties or officials as good or evil,
and getting you to think a certain way and foregoing
the freedom to form independent ideas. The two parties
are not good and evil, they are for the most part extremist,
and the truth about wars or corporations and
the real relationship between those two things
is either covered up or distorted.

there you go with labels again. Why not just ask if people believe that avoiding problems solves problems? Of course avoidance doesn't solve all problems but if we take positive steps to fix things that are broken are about to break before they completely snap, then we will avoid some of the problems. Life has its problems and solutions and without problems we would have no need to do more than survive. Problems to some are actually part of solutions to others so it depends on your point of view.
Actions create solutions. Actions create problems. The ideal is to create as few problems as possible and to have balance.

If I believed that avoiding a problem would solve it, I'd be as stymied as most of the GOP is right now when confronted with how to get out of Iraq.
But I won't. So I'm not.

Giving some hint of a clue as to what you're talking about, or why you ask, or what makes you think so would have been helpful.
Funny, mostly I see complaints against liberals for their wanting to solve problems, not avoiding them.
It's the current administration (who refer to themselves as conservative, though they aren't, really) who believe that saying everything is going well makes it so.
I do not know, nor have ever known, any liberal who believes avoiding problems solves them.

WE keep try to use the same old formula to fix every problem we need a new path.

It is better than making them if that were the choice!
I don't think Liberals ran up 3 1/2 TRILLION in additional debt, that we have to pay, while giving tax-cuts to the rich!
If Democrats were not in power you would have not heard one word about Walter Reed!
Look at yourselves, you think throwing money at the rich is problem solving! Hate to bust your bubble!

As I see it, they are putting forth all kinds of suggestions and plans for solutions on all sorts of fronts...but if they aren't agreed with...they are slagged. They see healthcare in the US as a problem, so they propose a solution. But the cons see in as communism. Doesn't mean they didn't propose a solution to a major problem...it just wasn't a solution that the other side wanted to hear.
