First of all, your not slow. These football gurus know very little in here. Your height isn't going to change and thats okay, but you really need to get your time down in the 4.9 range. You can improve on your speed, but you may have to sacrifice a little weight to do it. Div1AA isn't a bad thing either. Remember that you can always walk-on and try out. An invitation is better, but there have been some d@mn good walk-ons in the past. There was an awesome RB about your height that use to play for the Dallas Cowboys not so very long ago. E.Smith ring a bell? Just keep plugging away at it and always give 100%. Coaches notice players who hustle and play hard. Runningback isn't out of reach, but there are other positions to consider as well. Every major college has excellent players so you have to show your worth and Jr.College isn't a bad idea because you get to improve your body and your game. Auburn University grabs Jr.College transfers all the time.
Good Luck.

Not at any D-1 or D-2 school that's for sure.. A D-3 school or maybe some community colleges....5'8" and 210 lbs is small, add to that a 5.0 time means you are not quick enough to be a HB and to small to be a FB

Your 40 time is not that great but it depends on what coaches see in the game. Some people hav slow 40 times but great game speed and that is what matters. I would say probably some division 1-AA school would probably have some interest in you if not a big time school. The game tapes are what really make a difference as far as college goes, the pro's scout a little different.

You might be better off as a Linebacker or fullback at Div-3A if you are that slow. You certainly can't play any position where the ball will be in your hands as you the lack the speed to beat anyone other then a defensive tackle. Maybe if you lost 30 pounds you could increase your speed/quickness enough to be a Warrick Dunn type player, but you are clearly too fat right now.

Not with that 40 time...you'll have to cut your time by at least a half-second to be considered by most 1A schools. You could get away with a 4.6 if you're extremely agile, but don't let these people tell you off because you're only 5-8. To be honest, you're about the same size as Priest Holmes, and we all know what he did. All I can really say is work on your speed and you should be fine.

If you are looking to play college football, I recommend that you drop about ten or fifteen pounds. Work on your speed. If you lose some weight you may get that 40 yard dash down to a 4.7, which is not bad. At your height, you can be considered a "scat back" but there is nothing wrong with that.

Well, it depends more on your on-field abilities than just your 40 time, but your size and speed are well below what Division I-A schools look for. I wouldn't count on anything. You might be able to walk on a Division I-AA program and qualify for a scholarship later on, but don't get your hopes up.
