I have never shaved my legs (I'm 21 now). As a teenager I was a bit self-conscious, but I knew that it would be lying to myself and who I thought I was if I shaved. Now I'm in college, and finally coming out to more people about the fact that I don't -- and most of them DON'T CARE. Some of my friends are even impressed by the fact that I've managed to stick by my beliefs. I also have a loving boyfriend who I've been with for almost a year now. There's a supportive environment for people who don't shave in the United States, but sometimes it can take some time to find. You or your friend shouldn't let that stop you from doing what you want to do. :)

No... I'm an American teenager and sometimes I just don't for awhile. I don't usually let it get too long (I have pale skin, but dark leg hair...), but it's just a personal preference. And anyway...I'm from Minnesota, and it's too cold to show your legs for all but about three or four months of the year, anyway!

One of my distant cousins totally shocked me when i noticed at our family reunion that she does not shaver her legs! I think people are more shocked and in awe than disgusted really. If that's what you want, it's your life and your body . But just remember that you WILL be looked at since society as recognized that most women do shave their legs and that women's legs are supposed to be hair-free! Good Luck.

Yes, but it's her choice. There's always those other products to rub the liquid on the legs and rinse off in the shower. But, she'll find boys will think it's very odd.

As long as the public doesnt have to see them..who cares...if your going to expose them to the public..please shave them. Nothing grosser then seeing a leg full of hair on a woman. YUCK. Weird.... no, gross and disgusting...yes

I think so, I wouldn't want to date a girl with hairly legs. It's also big in high school because other kids will make fun of her.

Weird? Not really. But society has preconceived ideas of what women should look like, so some people will find it offensive.
