I am actually a big fan of Tom Hanks and he is a really good person. He donates and he isn't an embarrassment! I don't know his political views but I have watched his biographies and he surely wouldn't be a bad choice! He is certainly a better choice right now. I just hope that America will elect a good President in 2008. We need someone who will do the best for our people, make a difference in some of the chaos that our country has been dealing with. My main issues are, health care, low wages, education, natural disasters, and the obesity in our country. Most of all we need a President who really and truly works for the American People, not for the dollar!

Very, very unlikely. I have heard little of Tom Hanks' politics. Unless he has political savvy far beyond that which I could expect, I doubt I would be interested in such a public figure running for President. There are issues of image, how a movie star could possibly be someone qualified to run a nation.
Maybe if he runs for a lower legislative position and proves exceptionally competent, and that his political views are acceptably in line with my own, I would vote for him then.
Still, a bit tongue-in-cheek, but if we're voting on celebrities for President, why not pass the amendment and let Arnold run so we can recreate Demolition Man? On second thought, let's not. I'm not terribly fond of Taco Bell.

I would definitely vote for Tom Hanks for President if he's running against Hillary Clinton, Obama, John Kerry, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy or Nancy Pelosi.

No. I would not vote for him. He may be a great actor, but that doesn't mean that he will make a great president.
Then again, Hitlery Clinton has been pretending for years....so I guess an actor can make a legitimate run for the White House.

I can't say since I do not know his political leanings. But, chances are that he is liberal like most entertainers. If that were the case I would not vote for him. If he was a Charlton Heston or Ronald Regan I would vote for him.

I don't know enough about his political beliefs...but if he were to be fair and honest when answering questions about his beliefs and would-be policies than why not give him a chance. It is the American way after all....
And PS....I agree with John K....yes, if he were to resemble Heston or Reagan

If this were still his "You've Got Mail" days, sure, I'd vote for the guy. Since he went Da Vinci on us, no deal.

I would consider it, but would need to know where he stands on the issues that are important to me.
