The NL Central is really weak. I see the Cubs or Cardinals winning the NL Central.

Well you have a good point but remember baseball is a crazy sport and anthing can happen, i mean look at the white sox of 05 they werent supposed to make any noise and they ended up world champs, and last year the tigers were supposed to be at the bottom of the al central and look where they got, if you ask me its all about pictching and defense if all youre pitchers can blossom and produce at the same time then thats all you need, also you can never count out the cardinals, or reds they are tough teams to beat, in addition the cubs actually spent some money to bring some talent to chicago so this year the expectations for the nl central will be high, but like i said you never know. I personally believe that the mets will be even better this year as long as teh pitching holds up! But the best division in baseball will be the al central once again!

The Brewers are a good young team, but that isn't enough to win the wide open NL Central, the Cards are still the champs, the Cubs open the checkbook, will fight but can be enough, unless they SP keeps out of injures, the Astros weaks the roster, the Reds are going to fighting to be a .500 team, the Bucos, they still play in MLB isn't it?
I see the Brewers this way:
SP- Sheets, Bush & Capuano are going to win 42 games, need support from Suppan and Co.
RP- Turnbow needs to bounce back to his 2005 form, Cordero will save 30 games.
C- Estrada will be fine (his a .300 hitter), Miller bring the support.
Mid IF- Weeks will hit for .280, score a 100 and steal 40, Counsell it's going to be a perfect DP partner.
Corner IF- Fielder will hit 40 HRs & have 110 RBI, Koskie needs to be back to his 2004 form (25 HRs & 70 RBIs)
OF- Will have speed and good defense, some power from Jenkins & Hall (when plays the OF), Mench & Nix will be a good support.
For me the Brewers are going to fight until mid August, they will finish 4th with a 89-73 record. Wait for the 2008 season, they are young and good.

I don't know it the Brewers will win the Central this year, but they will compete. They have a good core of starting pitchers, which makes all the difference in modern baseball.
Their offense is not big on power, so they have to be smart on the basepaths this year. I have tickets on Easter Sunday against the Cubs, so I will see firsthand how they look. Like it's partner in the American League, the Central will be the division with the most teams still in contention going into the last week of the season.

The cubs don't have pitching?
1. Carlos Zambrano (CY Young candidate)
2. Ted Lilly
3. Rich Hill (watch out.)
4. Wade Miller
5. Jason Marquis (ready for a 'Braves' year)
and in long relief--Mark Prior
also in the bull pen ..
Angel Guzman
Bob Howry
Kerry Wood
Scott Eyre
Will Ohman
Carlos Marmol (closer).
And with the best line up in the NL, I'd better hope the Brewers get some luck.

Hahahahaha.... that's a good one! No really, the Brewers are improving, but not enough to win a division right now. The Brewers will end either 3rd or 4th in the NL Central. I just think that the Cards and Cubs will be better than the Brewers this year.

This is going to be an interesting season coming up next month. For some reason the Brew Crew gave my Reds fits last year. It didnt make sense we owned the Cardinals and they end up winning the series? But the Brewers are good and even though Im a Reds fan i will tip my hat to Milwaukee they could go to the playoffs if they really wanted to I believe.

Probably, and for the reason you sited-starting pitching. IF Ben Sheets stays healthy, and the young kids like the Prince, Weeks, and Hardy pick it up, they'll win it; the Cubs should be second, but if things fall right for the Cubs, it'll be a battle.

I could desire to facet with the others and agree that the Cubs will in all probability win the imperative. in spite of if, i think of that with Hardy and Fielder (alongside with a vulnerable imperative branch) the destiny seems bright for the Brewers. they are purely too youthful and not used to the rigidity that a pennant race involves. occasion: Prince Fielder choking for the time of the living house Run Derby

Not likely. You have the Cardinals, and now the Cubs since they went out spent some money and have decent players. It should be an interesting season though.
