Where I live there is a local charity that assists with utilities, but I'm not sure where you are. I think your best bets are to call the utility company directly and ask for options and/or call United Way, explain your situation, and see what assistance is available. From a land line you can dial 2-1-1 or 800-892-2757. Good luck!

Call them before it is past due and make arrangements for small payments. They will then ask you to pay an average amount every month so to regulate the ups and downs...but don't wait...then go outside agencies for help.
