The Passionate Shepherd to His Love

COME live with me and be my Love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That hills and valleys, dale and field,
And all the craggy mountains yield.

There will we sit upon the rocks 5
And see the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

There will I make thee beds of roses
And a thousand fragrant posies, 10
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroider'd all with leaves of myrtle.

A gown made of the finest wool
Which from our pretty lambs we pull,
Fair linèd slippers for the cold, 15
With buckles of the purest gold.

A belt of straw and ivy buds
With coral clasps and amber studs:
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my Love. 20

Thy silver dishes for thy meat
As precious as the gods do eat,
Shall on an ivory table be
Prepared each day for thee and me.

The shepherd swains shall dance and sing 25
For thy delight each May-morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my Love.

A love poem!! Or a poem about something that they like a lot. Or you can take their name and put words with the first letters. That's really easy though. If you really love them the words will come. Have a conversation with them, and if you can't, do or look at something that reminds you of them. Free verse is good too. Especially if it is going to be really long. Gives you more freedom and is sometimes easier to write.

Read some of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's work and see if you don't find them great as love poems. But very best would be your own poetry work if you are gifted with poems creations. Express your own feelings and put it in poetry form. Best wishes!

I Tried to Tell You
By Patrick W. Deck

I tried to tell you I love you
but the words were hard to find.

I'm always thinking about you
you're the only one on my mind.

Oh why do I act so shy forever hiding my face
I should learn to laugh and not to cry put yourself in my place.

There were times I tried to kiss you but something told me no.
You wanted me to hold you but I

kept letting you go.
I'm afraid that I am not the guy

you've searched for all these years.
I will kindly leave now don't you cry

try to hold back your tears.
It's been so long I haven't seen you

for quite awhile
When I think of how we me met it only

brings back your smile.
I remember when I held you then and

told you we'd never part
I loved you then I love you now and

I'll hold you in my heart.
***
Good luck.

why not write a letter instead..if you write a poem you think too hard and it becomes synthetic...if you write a letter the thoughts flow more naturally and will ultiamately mean a lot more to her/him

Check out Pablo Neruda or William Carlos Williams for ideas.
The first four Beatles albums are also good sources for ideas.
