Next time you have this problem, and you're wondering if it's a general fault or just your computer, ring 0800 169 0199.
You'll get a recorded message telling you of any BT Broadband problems happening as of the last update.
It's useful to know.

BT been there got another provider,i have ADSL connection (it goes down telephone line) connection went down again recently
guess who repairs faults at exchanges ,BT. Took them two weeks to fix problem. yep i got computer rage.Then telephone land line went down.
BT hold record with me as to getting through to customer services at present its 45 mins.

How frustrating was that, get it sorted BT!!! (guess you can get computer rage or BT rage)
