Hi!

I had a bit of a nightmare when I changed my starter on a Renault 19! getting to it was my problem, I cant remember having 4 wires tho? first I'd make sure you've got the right one. have you taken off the old one & it's the same?
I remember just having 2 wires what bolt on, a black & a red..
maybe going to your local motor discount store & just have a quick peep in the Haynes manual (or buy it)
if your having probs with the brackets it's a bit hard to explain..I'm not really too sure what your trying to say in your Question sorry . Good luck!

hi there, lets see if we can help hear, you should have one thick wire going from the solenoid to the starter motor unit its self and this is where you put the thick wire onto coming from your cars wiring loom (most of the time this is a 13mm nut), the other wire is the exciter wire this is the smaller wire/connection of the two, (normally a 10mm or a spade connection), hope this helps Gary

Look for a HAYNES manual for the car.

Try http://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&y=0&kn=renault+19&tn=haynes&x=0&sortby=3

if it doesn't appear take the gaps out of http://www.abebooks.co.uk/ servlet/ SearchResults?sts=t&y=0&kn= renault+19&tn= haynes&x=0&sortby=3

as already stared i suggest you refer to a haynes workshop manual. for different wiring configerations. scrap yards sell there s/h or photocopy relevant page from one in local reference library
