Matt 5:32, Matt 19:9, Leviticus 21:14,Luke 16:18, 1 corinthians 7:10-16, These are all verses that back up what im gonna say...you cannot get divorced by any means accept "Immorality" now this is in most cases unfaithfulness...but the word is the word...immoral. immoral can be abuse....and remember according to the bible if a man or woman even thinks a sexual thought about another that is adultry. so porn is adultry a dirty movie on tv... adultry....if the husband is being abusive or vice versa that is immoral....but in the 1 corinthains it states that all possible is to be done to save a marriage...you may seperate and the one at fault shall seek help and you should help them seek help pray for htem and support them in their time of need and humiliation forgive and trust and rebuild a healthy marriage....but it does not succeed...you are not to remarry this is also adultry even though you are divorced...you are to live celibate and not remarry, that sucks i know....but its the bible...you are also not to marry someone who is not a virgin...thats in those verses some where....but for the staying together after unfaithfulness....of course try hard to work it out get counceling get help pray for each other do all you can, god will forgive everything but it pleases him when you try to make your marriage work and forgive your spouse....

The Bible says that the perfect design is to never divorce. It does allow the exception for sexual unfaithfulness. However, the Bible is very big on forgiveness and repair. I would think if both spouses are open and able to forgive, heal, grow and move on, then that's exactly what the Bible would encourage.
The Bible does consider adultery a sin.

fairly, you want to regulate your wording only somewhat: Hebrew Bible Roman Catholic Bible Protestant Bible The Jewish pupils finished the version of the Hebrew Bible in about the 0.33 century. That textual content is coated in both the RC and Prot. Bible. The order of the books is distinct, because of underlying assumptions. The Christian Bible (the recent testomony) wasn't fairly nailed down until eventually almost the 10th century or so. After that, it replaced into locked in. This replaced into finished in a collection of Church Councils. this textual content is a similar in both the RC and Prot. Bible, and the former testomony is very a lot a similar in both of those Bibles, except that the order might want to be somewhat distinct. the purely distinction between the RC and Prot. Bibles is the presence of the Apocrypha -- quite a few books that were unknown in Hebrew, yet were coated robotically in Greek language translations of the former testomony that were in accepted use around the time of the early Church. That Greek translation of the former testomony (stated as the Septuagint) replaced into so accepted (maximum Jews did not on the on the spot undergo in options a thanks to talk or study Hebrew anymore) that everytime you discover the former testomony quoted contained in the recent testomony, it truly is continually the Septuagint textual content they are quoting.

The Bible ( I am a christian) is clear about divorce being permitted only in the case of adultry or of a believing spouse has a unbelieving mate that does not want to be with them then they are free from the vow of marriage. Please don't forget that we should always try to forgive and reconcile if that is possible. I advise you to pray about this and decide if you really love the person, if so then pray for healing from the pain and to be able to move past this. It IS NOT easy. I hope everything works out.

I do believe that the bible states that being unfaithful (having sex with someone else while you are married) is the only way that divorce is alright.

i believe bena64... has the right answer search for ur own meaning , it states in the bible that adultery is a prerequisite for divorce but God didnt say that it was man law (moses) God's purpose for marriage is to no divorce, vows are not something to take lightly, but as adultery is also a sin as much as divorce as long as u repent sincerely, God forgives all.
