A share is an actual or implied unit of Stock in a company. It can be a piece of paper or just a number on an investment screen. If you have 10,000 SHARES of a STOCK, you own equity in that company. Equity is a term for the value of a company's entire holdings.

A share is a portion of stock.

Equity is the margin of value after debt in something such as a house. You owe 200,000 in a house valued at 350,000 means you have 150,000 in equity, give or take.

Stock is the sum of shares available.
