Fat is not wrong at all. Thin is not wrong too. But why people prefer fat jokes is because fat is really funny and thin is not funny. Probably some people assume fat is cute and is a laughing staff, but why borders, they could still laugh at fat things like fat pig! Norbit is just a movie that really funny but if some people think they are really fat, just do something before your body become obesity and it is going to be crying staff!

I haven't seen the film yet - but my understanding is that he doesn't get any laughs from any of the jokes in Norbit, but yes, it is time to stop laughing at people becuase they are fat.

The movie was just showing us how fat people think they can wear anything. It's funny because they think they look great in dressing a certain way. I once was fat, and I did something about it, did not bother me at all.

No; fat jokes are one of the only kind which, by and large, are justified, because if someone is fat, it is by their own doing. Before anyone says something like, "easy for you to say," I am overweight myself, and am taking responsibility and doing something about it. It's about time people quit crying and whining.

It's sad how some believe that those different from themselves are a comedic free for all. Fat people, obese people, overweight people, however you choose to describe anyone with 'weight issues' aren't inferior to 'skinny' or 'thin' people... and it's ridiculous because that's what some think. If you look like the majority, if you 'fit in' or conform, it's all right to see yourself as better than those who don't- that's ridiculous. It's dumb how society accepts this brand of comedy.

I am fat and I found that movie totally funny! Its not just that she was fat but how she portrayed her self. Now I am not a fan of Shallow Hal because he only like her because he thought she was skinny (well atleast at first).

Yes. It depends on the joke but we all discriminate against fat people. Some fat people discriminate against fat people. We point, laugh and make jokes behind their back and sometimes in front of their face. No one deserves to be hurt. We all want to belong.

Yes. I do think it's time to stop. I agree with one poster that "fat people have no one to blame but themselves" as a fat person myself, it hurts to hear that, but it's the damn truth.

In regards to the movie. . . I think it's obnoxious that overweight people are a group that is completely socially acceptable to make fun of. It shouldn't be acceptable to negatively target anyone.
