i know its all about hcg, but do levels differ amongst women? ok, i took a clearblue easy test thursday late afternoon....negative. friday morning still no period and no signs of it either. Heres the full story, we had sex the day i ovulated, and actually days before and a few after as well. A few days before i'm supposed to get my period i was having some very painful cramps...stop you in your tracks kind of pain...which is odd, i never have cramping but they lasted about 2 days on and off. I have been fine since but no period. I've tracked my cycle daily on my monthly cycles for the last 2 and a half years and havent done anything different this past month than any other, except sex, (he usually pulls out.) We have a 3 year old boy and 1 year old girl. Could the sex throw my period off? I've never been this late except once i was 5 days late...i had a horsebackriding accident and needed surgery, the trauma threw me off, but that was 2 years ago.

How did you confirm ovulation?

If you used OPKs, it's possible to get a "fasle" positive. There's a detectable LH surge, but you don't end up ovulating that time. You might ovulate later after another LH surge.

If you are charting your fertility signs, especially your temperature, you could look for 18 elevated temps beyond the day of ovultions or a luteal phase 3 days onger than your longest LP.

I've heard of women being pregnant, but not getting a positive urine test. If you can confirm ovulation occured (by a thermal shift or a CF dry up pattern), then you could try again in a couple of days, then see a doc for a bood test if you still don't get your period.

Rarely, a corpus luteum cyst can delay your period w/o you being pregnant. If all tests are negative, you might want to be checked for a cyst.

Best of luck.

some people sow positive ealrier than others. .i would say wait a week or so and test again or to go to your doctor for an accurate test. hcg levels to differ some girls dont show positive on a hpt til 8 weeks. .you never know talk to your doctor if you take another in a few days and its still neg.
