If you are getting frustrated to the point where you "just sit and cry," it might be time to think about asking your doctor for Ambien or another prescription sleeping pill. Ambien looks reasonably safe to me as those things go.
The "squirming" is a mystery to me; I'd think you'd want to ask about that, too. Good luck!

Wow, were you in my body? I experience the same thing every night. I'm 25 weeks. Another problem I'm having is the feeling that my hands/feet are swelling but they aren't. Everything is great. I just feel like the circulation isn't well in my hands and this makes me mad. Do you sleep with a pillow under your sides? So your stomach is resting on a pillow, giving the baby more comfort? I wish I could help you but I'm at a lost just like you. Good Luck and try to gets some rest!

i have 3 kids and know what you are going through. i had this leg issue with my last one. only at night when i tried to go to sleep, my left leg would kick uncontrollably and i couldn't stop it. i would cry also because i couldn't sleep either.
body pillows are great...try being more active during the day so that your body will be more likely to rest at night (pregnancy exercises, walking around the block). if you get a chance to nap during the day, do it. perhaps have someone come over to give you a chance to rest.
you're sleeping only out of exhaustion and that isn't good for either of you.
stay away from otc meds....see if heating pads (placed appropriately) work. if you get overheated, use a fan. i ended up sleeping with nothing on because i was so uncomfortable in clothes.
good luck to you

If your doctor is not worried, then is nothing serious. During pregnancy mysterious things happen, things that even doctors can't explain. I experienced the same thing with my second baby. the Dr said i should find a position that is best to sleep, cause regardless of what i took this uncomfort couldn't go away.
Do an experiment during the day, put something tight below the belt. maybe it will work for you as it worked for me..

I had a very uncomfortable pregnancy also, im only 5'3 and weighed a little over 100 lbs when i got pregnant i ended up weighing 170 lbs and i was 2 weeks over due.the only thing that worked for me was to wait until i was exhausted and lay on my right side with a pillow in between my legs. it may be the left side for you but i hope this helps u out.if u drink caffine make sure u stop early in the evening that may help out too

Stop taking Tylenol PM!!!! It severely slows the baby's circulation down and will do damage to the brain!
Try homeopathic ideas:
Heating pad for no more than 5 mins (because of raising your blood pressure)
regular tylenol.
Changing your diet.
Ask a local midwife for some herbal supplements you can take that may make your digestive system feel better.
Acidopholus supreme is what I was given.
But please, stop taking tylenol pm regularly.

well i do know what you mean, and what i would do is, when you are starting to wind down, do what most relaxes you like maybe take a bath, read a book, watch a movie with your feet up on the couch etc. and if the baby is active or not during this time try to talk or sing to him or her ,sing something soft. but do these things a little while before you are ready for bed, the key is to try to get the baby to wind down when you do, i hope this works for you mama

i`ve been seeing a massage therapist who has been teaching me yoga techniques and ways to send your body into sleeping mode...and the best thing that i have found so far is laying in your bed of a night, or a slanted rocking chair, with support on your back, knees bent up with pillows supporting them, and a cushion on your back, doing deep breathing. imagine as if you`re breathing like you`re filling up a pitcher of water...from the bottom-middle-top. and then exhale...but don`t force it out. and eventually your body will feel so relaxed that you`ll fall asleep, or be pretty close to falling asleep. drinking with warm orange tea will also help.

That is totally normal. Poor girl. You're fine. You just have to have a million pillows and you'll get through it. Also there is something called Unisom you should ask your doctor about. Try to relax. Also, you may have RLS. Ask your doc about that, too. GL!

Sorry, I can't answer your question, I just wanted to say THANKS for asking it!!
I've had the exact same thing and it's been a really big help to read the answers! The squirming feeling is really odd and uncomfortable, I know how you feel!
:-) (I'm 31 weeks)
