I had my interview yesterday at my school's job fair, and got a callback this morning for a 2nd interview--while I was typing up my thank you note! Should I just wait until after the 2nd interview?

Send your e-mail anyways, you don't have to wait until the second interview. In some cases, the first interviewer may not even know who the second interviewer is! I have done many interviews and it is always appreciated whenever a person thanks me for my time, even if they ended up not receiving the job. It's very polite and sometimes, the first interviewer can even give you a lead on another position if it doesn't work out on the first role.

When being informed of an interview call back for second interview always wait to see if you get the job or position before thanking them

If you really want that job, I would send a thank-you note. it cannot hurt. Very few people send thank-you notes today because they do not have the time. For this reason, a note from you would make a big impression and may make the second interview the one that gets you the job.

Good luck.
