what is -2x² - 2x²

i first thought 0, then -4x²

so im not sure, can someone clear this up please

Your second answer is correct. Think about it this way: you can factor out the "-".

-2x^2-2x^2 =
-(2x^2+2x^2)=
-(4x^2)=
-4x^2

You are correct. THe answer is -4Xsquared. THink of a number line. You are on 2 below zero and then you are moving 2 more spaces in the negative direction which puts you at -4.
