There are books with sample past LSAT exams. I think I took practice exams for about 6-8 hours a day for 2 weeks. Taking the practice exams is critical because the test is timed. I know they have LSAT preparation courses, but I really didn't have the money to take the prep. course. I relied on taking massive amounts of practice exams (and coffee probably). I got admitted to the law school I wanted with a score of 630 out of 800. We had 1500 applicants for 110 slots. I don't say that to brag--I actually took the LSAT twice to get a better score--but to demonstrate that taking practice exams is critical. You've got to be prepared to answer every question and not run out of time. Oh, and btw, doesn't the prep. course just use lots of practice exams anyway? Maybe a younger atty can give you better advice on that.

A good study program will help but if you still dont like your score, you can always try and get into a night program at a law school since night student LSAT scores dont usually get reported.

Unless you did very badly, you're better off not retaking it. Unlike many other tests, your scores on the LSAT are averaged each time you take it, rather than the newer set replacing the old.

Check out the LSAC website. They have study guides and a free practice test that closely resembles the real thing - http://www.lsac.org/LSAC.asp?url=lsac/download-forms-guidelines-checklists.asp
