he didnt do it on accident, the game was over and duke was frustrated so when hansbrough went up for the rebound, henderson elbowed him on purpose just because duke hates losing to NC. usually duke and NC do not get physical and it is usually just word to word conflict. i think henderson should have been suspended for the rest of the season and for the NCAA tourney but you know how the college basketball loves duke. i hate duke so much.

I'm a tarheel fan and this was an accident. Even though the Dukies were down by an insurmountable deficit with 14 seconds to go, you can't be so hard on Henderson. He forgot about the situation when he went up with intent to get the ball as any player would do acting on instinct and adrenaline. It was unfortunate that he didn't have the body control while he was in the air and came down with a forearm to Hansborough. Nonetheless, it was a flagrant foul worthy of a suspension. Just because it is an accident doesn't take away fault.

Are you kidding? You cant accidently run across the entire courrt, and elbow a guy in the face, while trying to "block" a shot that already was shot. Henderson should have been suspended for 5 games. If he had just went up to Hansbrough and punched him in the face, thats the kind of suspension he would have gotten, and I dont see how a flagrant foul with the elbow is any different.

That was a flagerant foul. There was 12 secounds left and there was no need to do that. The ball was out of Hansborough's hands before the contact was made, and Henderson didn't try to pull back. And you don't try to stuff someone with your elbow, he wasn't even trying to go for a block. I wish Hansborough would have got up and laid him out.

right this is what Roy Williams reported On coach Krzyzewski suggesting that the group's starters do not have been interior the sport whilst Tyler Hansbrough replaced into fouled: "i don't understand that - I advise the two communities had `em in. i replaced into sitting interior the stands my first - the only game I observed whilst i replaced into first right here as a intense college coach - we win and beat Duke and we've been down by using 8 with 17 seconds to play. i don't additionally be responsive to how plenty time replaced into left whilst it got here approximately. and in certainty we had a substitute up on the loose throw line - in case you prefer to return and seem at that. in case you return and seem Michael Copeland replaced into sitting up on the loose throw line reason i replaced into attempting to Tyler out of the sport. it somewhat is not my fault that Tyler have been given the offensive rebound and somebody else ignored the sucker. yet it is sufficient reported approximately that junk." end quote. It replaced into glaring that coach ok did not think of the sport replaced into over and Henderson had to devote a not undemanding foul.

Becuase the NCAA rules state nothing about intent. So, whether Henderson intened the foul is not the issue. The issue is that he was whistled for an "agressive and combative" action.

By the rules, this is considered a fight. Which is an automatic ejection. Any time a player is ejected they automatically get a one game suspension to go along with it.

So his ejection and suspension had nothing to do with intent.

I'm a tarheel, but don't worry I'm not mad at Duke fans or Henderson. Heck, Hansbrough said that it was unintentional. But the standard NCAA procedure is to give a player a 1 game suspension for an ejection, so they were obliged to do it.

accident? with 14.2 secs left down by 8? hard to see it..i agree frustration got the better part of Duke not only for this loss, but really for a pitiful season, and because of Henderson's selfish play, he probably cost his team and program a shot at repeating as ACC champions! only Duke fans and possibly UNC haters think that was accidental, the rest of us, including the refs and the ACC governing body saw it for what it really was.

Accident???Ha don't make me laugh. He deserves to be suspended. I mean Duke needs to realize they are not basketball gods, and they should be held accountable like everyone else.
